Beatriz Martínez-Peñalver is a licensed psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. She holds a master’s degree in mental health from Nova Southeastern University, and is the president and CEO of Healthy Connections Community Mental Health Center in Miami, FL. She is also the founder of Triumph: A Curriculum for all Schools and Universities. The Triumph curriculum addresses the important and time relevant topics of emotional well-being and emotional literacy in children. The program was implemented at Henry M. Flagler Elementary School in January 2017 as a pilot program, and because it has had an enormous positive impact on its students, the school subsequently incorporated Triumph into the daily routine in many of its classrooms. On March 21st, 2018, Miami-Dade County School Board Members Susie Castillo and Maria Teresa Rojas recognized Mrs. Martínez-Peñalver for her commitment to improve the mental wellness and emotional literacy of students nationwide.

Please join us to discuss this important topic and other relevant issues as we continue to work together to improve education for the present and future generations of students in Doral!
