On the evening of March 6th, 2017, Triumph Steps attended an FIU Constitution Revision Commission hearing where Dr. Martinez gave a powerful speech regarding the importance and necessity of emotional literacy being an integral part of education. The speech was presented to thirty commissioners.
The Constitution Revision Commission of Florida only convenes every twenty years. It is of crucial importance to expand awareness of emotional literacy movement so that students can be helped from an early age. Triumph Steps advocated for a proposed amendment to Florida’s State Constitution, which would include the implementation of an emotional literacy curriculum in all schools for kindergarden-12th grade.
